Visit the Empire State Building: I’m sure you have probably heard of this building in movies, on TV and even on the internet. It goes to show how popular the edifice is. The Empire State Building is a New York City monument that has probably given the city more credit than one can imagine. In New York, you would get used to checking out tall buildings like never seen anywhere else in the world, but with the Empire State Building, you will get to explore the city from the world’s perspective; and as a tourist, such view would give one an experience of a lifetime.

Visit Rockefeller Center: The Rockefeller Center is actually one of the most popular spots for visitors and tourists every year. The Center is located in midtown Manhattan and can be visited at any time of the year. However, the best time to visit there is around Christmas season when the Christmas tree, one of the biggest in the world, is lit. The decorated Christmas tree is surely a wonder to behold. Visitors took a liking to the Center is also for  its huge ice skating rink.  The ice skating rink as served so many visiting families as a place where one can have fun and bond, something quite attractive to visitors especially tourists who have not had the privilege of seeing a live ice skating rink.

Visit the Statue of Liberty National Monument: As a foreigner  visiting New York City for the first time, you would probably be wondering if people do get to visit and likely go all the way to the top of the Statue of Liberty. The answer is yes, even though the inside is presently closed due to Sandy. Ever since the erection of the statue, it has been a one stop spot for tourists from all over the world. A gift from the French to the Americans, the magnificence of the structure alone can leave one wondering how the builders were able to achieve such a feat. Visiting the Statue of Liberty would definitely be worth your time. While you are at the Statue, you could also visit Liberty Island.

On the southeast  of Liberty island is the Ellis Island, which was made part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument in 1965 and has hosted the Ellis Island Immigration Museum since 1990. the Ellis Island Immigration Museum is another tourist spot you definitely would not want to pass up for anything. The museum gives an in-depth look into the lives of early New York immigrants; a history of their challenges and hardships is revealed to visitors through walking tours, movies, shows and interactive displays. Visitors and tourists would probably like the fact that they can visit the Island on ferries, of which the feeling can be really exciting.

These are three  amazing spots to visit when you get to New York for the first time or even if you revisiting the city. The City is definitely a destination of adventure and fun of which any foreign tourist would be proud to associate with.
